why whats the point, if you're gonna spend money on a standard model you'll just leave it, if you're gonna spend money on one thats already lowered than H and R are completely useless. and wheel Spacers are universal, so i dont know what the fuse is about. Autoblog and Autoexpress just BS too much.
I think this has been mentioned before IIRC.

And I also think blinky should stay out of the performance and mods section if he disagrees with it so much.

I second dat. :D
Actually it makes a huge difference. H&R also has two types, one that is standard and another type that lowers the vehicle with an even more aggressive stance. I have them on the car and it definitely goes beyond just the 'looks' aspect by providing a better more direct steering feel, better cornering with even less body roll, and an overall better handling vehicle. The tradeoff is a slight decrease in ride quality (slightly stiffer). The spacers really help to fill out the fenders which in the case of the A5/S5 is substantially 'tucked' from the factory. Together, they are definitely a vehicle enhancing mod. H&R is high quality.

Quattrings,

Would you mind elaborating a bit on what you mean by "slight decrease in ride quality"? For instance, is it to the point where you are sometimes annoyed by the stiffer ride (like when driving along bumpy roads)?

Based upon what you wrote, I inferred you installed the more aggressive springs. By how many millimeter/inches did it lower your car? Also, it would be great if you happen to have some "before" and "after" shots to share. :) Thanks.
I'll probably need some driving time on the horribly maintained CA freeways before giving a full accessment but so far on normal streets, its generally smooth, except for the larger expansion bumps where it feels a bit on the stiff side. I do have the more agressive HR springs and I think the standard springs would be better for most people that wouldn't want to sacrifice some ride comfort. I also am using 25 series tires which definitely doesnt help things either. I'll get some side shots for better visibility. The fender is about 3/4 to 1" above the tire.

I personally went with the less aggressive springs with the 1" drop...
I'm hoping ride quality is not affected too much.

Do the springs give the car that bouncy feel over small bumps? I hope not....
Just ordered a set of these for my A5 3.0TDI Sport, they cost £185 plus VAT and have to be specially ordered as there are none in the Uk at the moment.
ETA is early January 2008 so will post up pictures when they are fitted and give a write up on them also.
Hay, I am from Poland ( Warsaw ) I bought audi A5 1.8 TFSI black with S-line interior and exterior, Bang & Olufsen and more :D I will receive my audi a5 in February 2008. Haw I can tuning my engine and exhaust system? Witch company do tuning parts for Audi A5 1.8 TFSI?
Hey Breitling, don't give us Poles a bad name on these forums :p hehe so try not to spam the same questions on different threads. I am sure that everyone that is reading this thread has already read and possibly even answered your questions on the other thread.

Anyway good luck with tuning that 1.8TFSI, but I think it will be safer and maybe even cheaper for you to just go with a bigger engine. You will not be able to squeeze much over 200bhp out of that 1.8 anyway.
Hey Starski,
I wish to have A5 with bigger engine but I am 23 years old student and I don’t have money for A5 with bigger engine ;-( so I bought A5 1.8 TFSI ;-) Maybe in few years I will bay S5 convertible and I don’t have to spam the same questions on different threads ;-)
Sorry Starski about the spam but I am new member ;-)
(Are you from Poland? Are you the owner of A5?)
As soon I will receive my A5 I will show you photos. In summer I want to set 20’’ wheels up but I don’t know witch brand MTM, ABT ??? I saw photos A5 with ABT wheels, it looks great!!!!!!!!!!
Quattrings,
What is the wheel and tiresize you have on your S5 now?

Tonny

So far i know the DPE's are 10x20" at the front and 10.5x20" at the rear with 285/25R20" tyres all around.
