Hello everyone and happy new year 2021. Months ago I updated my MMI 3G + with the 2020 maps and everything worked fine thanks to this forum, but a few weeks ago Google Earth has stopped working, the browser works perfectly but when selecting Googel Earth it keeps thinking (see attached photos) and It only supports viewing the standard mode. I suppose this means that indeed, as some advertised, due to Google modifications our browsers in old Audis (I have a Q5 from 2013) stop working in this mode. Does someone with a car from those years (more or less) still work? Does anyone know if there is a solution?
Thank you.

In 2012, Google and Audi came together to offer an industry first, Google Earth imagery as part of our navigation systems. The technology that Google uses to deliver Google Earth imagery is constantly evolving and updating. As of December 31st, 2020, Google Earth will no longer be compatible with the hardware in select model year 2018 and older Audi vehicles.

As a result of this change, after 12/31/20, affected vehicles will no longer be able to receive Google Earth images on the navigation screen. Rest assured, all other Audi connect services will remain available as long as there is a compatible service network to support them.

It's really just a memory problem. Google Earth now sends much more information and the memory that the MMI 3G + has is not enough to load it. If someone got technical information from the MMI, it would be easy to increase the memory and the issue would be solved. Any skilled engineer on board?

GOOGLE LAYOUT OFFLINE usage HELP

I know the Google online will not work any more, but I hope some EXPERTS can help how to use the offline already downloaded database without network connection.

I have chacked the current cache in the green menu. 21% is used. It is 350MB.

(now i understand why you had to upload the GEMMI, MAPSTYLES and COMBISTYLES because for the map update you have to delete the NAV partition.)

I have downloaded the following folders from the NAV partition. The 2 sections are identical at least the CACHE and TEMP folders.

mount -uw /mnt/nav
/mnt/img-cache/gemmi/.config
/mnt/img-cache/gemmi/cache
/mnt/img-cache/gemmi/scache
/mnt/img-cache/gemmi/temp
/mnt/nav/gemmi/.config
/mnt/nav/gemmi/cache
/mnt/nav/gemmi/scache
/mnt/nav/gemmi/temp
/mnt/nav/gemmi

Here is a link with my backup and the script what I have used to save the above listed folders.

661.32 MB folder on MEGA

Would be nice if someone can find solution, before a new map update will come up, and everybody will delete Google maps cache.

Now I have the following error if I remove the SIM and then I try to get the Google overlay.

Thanks in advance!
