Just an update on using the S5 in the midwest winter. We have had several nasty ice/snow mixtures already the last being last night with snow and freezing rain (had to pull over on the interstate to let windows de-ice before going on--couldn't see the bridges up ahead and didn't want to do my new car in just yet). As stated earlier I chose out of personal preference to keep my stock rims and put on Michelin Sport Pilot All Seasons and gosh I am impressed with the traction and stability of this car/tires. I'm not sure why but it just seems to be a better audi in these ugly conditions than my previous audis. I personally am glad that I didn't switch to true snows but again that doesn't make it right or wrong for anybody else.
