So as i read about this car more and more, the more i love it...
I'm considering trading in my car for something new because its a little boring and the exhaust note doesn't quite cut it...
the only thing is that as i research different exhausts for the S5, multiple videos display a ridiculous pop/backfire type of sound during the revving/gear changing, and it doesn't sound very good :[.

What is this and what causes it... maybe a cold engine?
but idk why the edmunds one would show this sound too
a rev limiter seems quite dumb in a manual

Not sure what causes it but I actually really like it when it does that, gives it a proper muscle car feel then. Also i've only noticed it on downshifting or reving the car at standstill, it's not something that happens when you driving normal and changing up the gears or when your pushing the car hard either.

I'd suggest a resonated system if you dont want the poping, but then it isn't going to be that much louder than stock.

I had an Evo before the A5 and that used to pop and bang like crazy, even more so once I'd installed a larger stainless steel exhaust de-cat system, I loved it! :D I'm no expert but I believe it's unburnt fuel in the exhaust igniting causing the odd bang and occasional flame to come out of the tailpipes. When I had a new ECU remapped they actually mapped it so I would have more pops and bangs, God I loved that car! :D
