Greetings, I have tried my best to find a similar thread but failed after a couple of hours.

I am seeking advice/help with the problem I am facing right now. My Audi A5 2008 3.0 TDI freaked out randomly and threw almost all of the car components into "Component protection" which include a climate control unit, dashboard, drivers and passengers seat, sound system and airbags. None of the components hasn't been changed throughout my ownership for +5 months. Took the car to "Audi specialist" they have told me that they haven't seen it happen before and suggested me to take it to Audi dealership to take off the CP. Before I do so I would like to know if anyone has experienced it and did you manage to fix it?
If I take it to Audi what are the guarantees it won't happened again?

Something that could help solve problem is a weird fault code coming from gateway (19) Control module incorrectly coded : 01044

Let me know if I can provide you with more information.

Any advice is welcome.

The CAN gateway (module 19) is the main hub for all your components so if all have suddenly flagged up with CP then it most likely this gateway that has got messed up. Depends if its a intermittant or permanent fault in the gateway

Can't tell if it's intermittent or permanent, I will attach my OBDeleven scanner results and results from Audi specialist.
Is it possible to changed gateway module on my own? What sort of stuff I will have to face?

You can change it yourself but you will have more fault codes registered as the gateway itself will go into CP. Best way is to get someone near you with a genuine ODIS account or Audi to see if the original can be recoded online, failing that replace it and recode it again online

Give www.vagcarcoding.com a shout, Alix is your man, he has genuine ODIS, etc.

JG
Thanks for suggestion. Emailed him and booked the closest day he is available which is next month.

Meanwhile I am looking for different solutions and try to solve problem on my own. Did a bit more reaserch on it and potentially it could be as simple as faulty car battery. Gateway also had fault energy management code : 03041
Booked battery health check in halfords for free. Let me know if its any good idea to install new batter or is it waste of time.
