Evening all

My has has the above mentioned Audi. Yesterday he tried to jump start his car as the battery was flat and he accidentally connected the positive and negative reverse polarity. Only for a couple of seconds apparently.
I went over all the fuses and relays, only one fuse on the radio had blown. Car coming up with parking break fault, all though is working now, but fault still on . also showing ecu fault see manual.

Any ideas, could it be the ecu. The car is not starting at all and the fan is running constantly

The fan on constantly usually means that communication with the ECU is lost.

Check power to the ecu, does the amber engine check light come on, or come on then go off when you turn the car on? (the ecu controls this light, if the light does not come on at all this is a problem)

If fuses do not solve the problem it will need to be diagnosed at a good independent shop.

The next step is to use a electronic scope to see if the ecu has all powers and grounds and check if its trying to communicate on the network bus, if its communicating the problems is elsewhere, if not the ecu has failed, but can be repaired at a specilist automotive electronics shop.

Good luck
