I am not sure why this is not clear as an attachment, but the reading are 253bhp with 384blft.

Hi Jim,nice results, which gear was used? esp switch/thingy on or off?
Mal.
Welcome to the forum Jim, (from starperformance, Fife...correct?). Good to have another person on the forum that really knows about motors.

Mal.
Run was done in 4th gear with esp off.
Jim.
Good results for this car; what fuel were you using (Shell vpower?) and what do you think you can achieve by re-mapping?
Hi Jim,

Is there a reason you used 4th gear as opposed to 3rd? Does 4th produce a better ratio?

It's good to see how different Dynos produce different results....

Just to recap on my Dastek results: (3rd gear used)

Power Wheels: 181.3BHP @ 2699 RPM
Power Engine: 199.1BHP @ 2719 RPM [I have no idea HOW they arrive at this figure]
Max Torque: 399.7 lbft (543.11NM!!!) @ 2440 RPM

Running V-Power Diesel.

I'm slightly down on engine power (don't trust the quoted engine figure - work it out from the wheel figure), but UP on torque.

Your stock A5 seems to be slightly higher on both accounts?

Rab, sorry but your results look very suspect to me; how can power at wheels be so close to engine power? (it seems there is very little transmission loss) and maximum power rpm seems too low, and how can maximum power arrive at different RPM (engine power and wheel power is just a way of estimating power loss via the transmission as you cannot measure engine power -accurately- without taking the engine out). Did they give you a copy of any graphs?

I agree, thats why it's good to compare results. I have got a graph, i'll scan it when I go in to work on wednesday (I havn't got a scanner at home).

I did say that i wouldn't make judgement on how they acquired the engine output figure. They may have used a standard conversion value. And it doesn't make sense that it's at a different RPM, albeit 20RPM!

The max power RPM should be 4000-4400RPM if you go with the handbook. However, the max torque RPM is fine.

I do think Dastek used the wrong gear, though.
more sensible and expected results from the Star graph and run.

i think your right Rab, seems like Dastek got yours wrong :(

maybe a trip into star next time your passing to put your mind at rest :)
Run was done in 4th gear with esp off.
Jim.
