Hi,

I've just bought a 2013 A5 sportback and it has a dvd in the unit from the previous owner. The eject button seems to do nothing (no noises) and the disk won't eject.

Is there a way to tell the MMI to eject the disk via the green menu or any other way?

The dvd for the sat nav needs unlocking. You will need main dealer or acces to VCDS

Does that also apply if its not a sav nav disk? Its a sound/video disk.

The dvd player is in the dash. MMI 3G with Nav. I've gone into the green menu and under the diagnose | optical drive screen there's an entry that says "disable eject =no", so I didn't think the dvd was locked.

Yes, the dvd plays ok but I cant change it!

Well its got power, can you load other dvd's or is it a single player?

If the dvd is palying and you push the eject, does it continue playing or stop?
Do you hear any sound (not the dvd playing) when you push eject?

It's a single player so I can't load any more dvds. If I push eject when the dvd is playing nothing happens and the dvd continues to play.
I have heard some quiet whirring noises when I've pressed the eject button but no real movement.

Looks like I'll have to get a carista or OBDeleven to unlock the drive.

If the dvd continues to play its sounds like the button is not working, as you are getting continued playing and the unit does not recieve the eject comand.
