DPF delete and downpipe

Hi there,

I'm no expert by any means but I'd suggest not removing the DPF without having the ECU remapped at the same time. Simply removing the DPF will cause your vehicle to smoke horribly, and probably throw up numerous exhaust related faults as well as putting your car in to limp mode. Unless you really know what you're doing when it comes to remapping, I'd take it to a tuning company. I had mine done recently (same model/age as yours) by a company I trust, and visibly it's no different. If you have a healthy car, and it's mapped correctly, there shouldn't be an increase in smoke. My car is on 100k miles and there is no smoke whatsoever. Hope this helps!

Hi mate, I have a 2008 3.0tdi A5 as well, could tell me what company you used because after hearing what this engine sounds like without dpf and custom pipes I really want it done, I saw this on dark side developments YouTube page
Hi buddy,

I used a company called Avon Tuning based just North of Bristol. I’ve taken 2 cars to them now and the service there is brilliant. A close friend of mine has had work done to a previous car of his by DarkSide and I’ve heard really good things about them so I’d guess you’re in safe hands if you get work done there - they really seem to know their stuff. I haven’t had my exhaust modified yet, but I have a remote cut out valve on order which I’ll fit myself when it arrives, that might be worth a think if you want to save yourself some cash on an exhaust!
