hello,Here's something I don't think I ever figured out. If you have two engines, identical in every way except for the compression ratio, would the one with a higher compression ratio make more power?
As an example, say you have two old school 350 Chevrolets, one with 9.5:1 and one with 10.5:1. All other components of the engines are idenical. Does the one with 10.5:1 make more power?thx

Two engine cannot be identical in every way except CR because something else has to be different for the CR to be different. The most common difference is stroke and that will affect revs and hence power.

BUT in general yes in other words if you increase the compression ratio then you will have more horse power.
