Amusingly it gives up the recommendation when you drive it hard.

I have the a 3.0TDI Manual and it recommends for me to change at 4000 and a bit revs when my foot is to the floor.

Not sure if it is being economical or it's the optimum point to change.

The MPG at this point is reading 12....
