The Journey so far...

Hi all,

Been an Audi driver since 1998 and had a workhorse A4 1.8 from new until last September when at 140,000 miles with lots of outstanding repairs it had to go.

After much debating I bought a 2008 S5 Coupe in Meteor Grey with Magma Red interior. I've had her a while, not that many factory options, and a few simple mods so far, but the real work starts now the warranty has gone.

I'm having an aftermarket amp and speaker setup fitted. My car is currently with Auto Audio Installations in London. I have to say I am very impressed with their work and the workshop is full of exotic cars, made my S5 look like a bit of a joke in comparison to the Porsche, Bentley, etc.

The build will include Morel Limited Edition Elate 2-way speaker setup for the front (housed in the doors):

Although not shown in the generic photo, the ones being fitted are actually signed by Morel's founder Meir Mordechai and are one of only 6 signed sets in the world. There are some custom mounts being made for the larger speakers to expose the signature on the cone:

There are also some custom mounts being fabricated to hold the tweeters in a replacement for the mounts next to the door mirrors:

A sub will be placed behind the mat in the passenger footwell. The rear passengers will get more Morel speakers (not as high spec). The 3 Sinfoni amps to drive this lot look like they've been put above the rear left wheel arch :

This is still a work in progress and I've not seen my car for over a week now so eager to get it back, but have been sent some photos of progress so thought I'd post them. Hopefully have it back on Wednesday.

Cuppa, how easy was the P3 boost gauge? Im looking at getting the VIDI one. Did yours come with the vent or did you fit it in to your existing vent and if so, how??

It's super easy. I fit mine in my existing vent.
Ok cool. How does it fit in the vent, remove a few find and job done?

Can I buy direct?

@Cuppa how did you route the wiring for the suspension? Did you follow their installation guidelines and if so then where did you route the wires for the button??

I will follow the guidelines for the wiring for each shock and go to the boot, but then not sure from there as I will have the wifi module but I think I also want the button installed for ease ;)

Sorry if you have mentioned it in a previous reply on this thread somewhere

JabbaSport did the wiring and think they followed the installation guidelines. You will want the button as well as the wifi module.
OK, do you use the button and the wifi?

Have you preset any manual settings or do you just use the 3 stock settings?

Directly. Im sure!
Directly. Im sure!
Its on its way to me on Monday I believe
@Cuppa or anyone else running the KW DDC ECU set up. The rear shock, more specifically where the wire comes out from it. Its very close to the drive shaft. Do you just pull this and attach it to the sticking out part of the shock with the little rubber bit to hold it out of the way?

Its very close and will be quite an angle that the wire is pulled back on itself.

To be fair the novelty wore off and I just leave it in sport mode almost all the time now. If on good tarmac I will use the Sport Plus, never use the comfort mode as just too bouncy.

Afraid I don't know the answer to this one as Jabba did the setup.

Oh yes off course, you did say. TBH, he should be able to figure it out.

I imagine so yes. Did you program the stock modes to your liking or did you leave them a stock? Im liking the fact they can be set to your liking and then yes, can't see how you would want to tweak it anymore. Unless getting a full load and the family or something?? :)
Hi cuppa, i’m a fan of your work and i want to transform my Audi A5 to RS5 just like yours. I just want to ask you a few question about the mods. I saw this deal on ebay and the seller is selling RS5 trunk lid with spoiler and RS5 rear bumper. I asked the seller and he said that he only have the lid but no wiring and no switch and no hardware. Is the spoiler going to work without the wiring hardware? Like can you control the spoiler with your hand like move it up and down with your hand. And If i bought this trunk lid? Can i get the wiring and switch and instruction from somewhere else? is it a good deal for me? Can you please help me, and here is the link Audi RS5 Heckklappe Mit Flügel Spoiler Elektrisch Stoßstange Komplett PDC | eBay

Thank you very much

The spoiler will just stay in the raised position without the wiring and control module and wiring to the button by the gear stick.

If you have the wiring and control module connected up to the Central convenience module correctly then it will retract once connected and then raise at 76mph and lower at 50mph.

If you wire in the control switch also then you can manually activate it up and down.

I got the wiring from user llBen on here.

Been quiet on here for a while as been busy busy busy, but the car is now back out of it's winter hibernation. Took it for a blast around the bypass recently and forgot how intoxicating it is :D

Anyway, first mod of the year is under way - the front lights are removed and currently being modified and upgraded by @t8ups

When I have them back on I'll do some photos and some sound/video clips of the exhaust
