Still problems

Hi guys,

sorry that I haven't responded in quite a while. I continued working on retrofitting the memory seat buttons, tried quite a lot with the wiring (also with the green cable). I think I got that one right. I also had the seat memories coded, the menu "Driver Seat and passenger seat" shows also. When I use different keys, the driver seat moves in different positions upon opening. However, the 4 button switch in the driver door doesn't react when I try to program buttons 1-3. What might be wrong? I have an appointment with my VCDS guy tonight to check what might be wrong. Any ideas coding wise?

Hi thanks for the flowers. I would start with the coding. Two codings have to be performed not only one like I indicated above. That had been the problem all along in my case. Do that first with vcds. Then go an check under the driver seat in the floor boxif you have that green wire on pin 3. If yes it is very easy to retrofit everything. If no no problem also, no need to place a new wire to the door. There is already one that can connected to the relevant pin in the door jack.
The wiring of the door jack is easy. Just dismount the door Panel and connect it according to the wiring diagram. You get ground and plus for the lighting from the trunk switch. Jus start with it we help you on the way. It's a nice function by the way helps me preserve the good condition of my leather seats!

Fitted this over the weekend using a door card I got off ebay for ÂŁ30 with both loom and buttons.
As mine is a cab had to add additional wiring for rear windows between E97 and window switch, two cables later a bit of coding and all works great with the exception of the mirror memory.
Has anyone any luck in sorting this?

Thanks

Hi. Yes, I got mine working when I fitted the memory switch.

I presume yours currently remembers its position following a kerb-view on reverse i.e. always returns to normal position after dipping?

You can replace it with the seat in situ, but its much easier to unbolt the seat and tilt it backwards onto the rear bench.

Something I found by accident.

With the drivers seat in position1 , if I press and release postion2 button with the ignition off and the door open, the seat will move to position 2 and vice versa. I use this as a convenience feature so that it easier to get in/out of the car and saves me rubbing against the seat bolster. I have position1 as my driving position and position2 with the seat moved further back.

With the door closed, or ignition on you have to press and hold the button until the saved position is reached.

Does anyone else's seat behave like this?

I'm getting ready to do this on my cab. I haven't looked at the wiring diagram in ElsaWin yet but what does the memory seat have to do with the rear windows?

Thanks Tomcat-R for the great guide for this mod!!! :thumbsup: Got mine done a few days ago by my mate "T8ups" and works great, he also done the key function so both keys have different settings. Finally my girlfriend has her own setting!! >:)

All parts were genuine from Audi. I will list the price for the parts all include VAT.

* Memory switch button - ÂŁ93.10

* Memory Trim panel surrounding frame - ÂŁ15.06

* Connector - ÂŁ5.08

* Wiring was supplied by T8ups

* Door clips - ÂŁ0.88p each but we only damaged 1 due to been a new car & careful!

My A5 Coupe had the module and fully electric seats from factory so it was a case of small wiring, coding and basically plug and play! Simple mod but amazing out come :grin2:

MUST DO MOD!!! :thumbsup:

I just bought a 2009 Coupe RHD S5 interior (leather, memory, heated) and planning to do retrofit this in a LHD Coupe 2008 which now has non-electric s-line half leather seats.

As obviously the driver sits on the right seat in the UK and in NL we are supposed to sit on the left, I think I have to make some adaptions.

I have been reading about the J136 module which is fitted under the drivers seat, can I just take the ECU and switch it to the other seat? Both seats are full factory wired?

Also I have to buy the correct doorswitch and trim for the LHD doorcard. I have read this thread thoroughly and it should be possible to have the buttons on both sides? If J386 and J387 allow to have two memory seats?

All your help and info is welcome!
