Tell me is that deep sea blue. I've ordered an A5 sport in deep sea blue and not seen one yet. If it is I think I made the right choice. Although mine will have the 19" Y spoke wheels

yeah the color is black, although deep sea blue shouldn't disappoint. I'm planning to get deep sea aswell.

I debated between Deep Sea Blue and Meteor Gray. I'm going with Meteor Gray since that was my first choice.

Dark Blue looks very close to Black and hence I would worry more having that color about swirl marks showing overtime.

What is the piece on the back called between the two exhaust pipes? I'm terrible with frame names. Rear bumper? ANYHOW, That beehive grill back there is GORGEOUS and I absolutely MUST have it for my S5. Anyone know who is putting this out?

^It's called a rear valence, I'm sure there will be mods avaliable once this car becomes more popular. You should wait for the carbon fiber versions that may be coming out soon.

You can also call it a rear diffuser. Although I'm not really sure if it's for just for looks or for aerodynamic purposes.

I'm 90% sure it's just looks. But I've always loved that rear valence on the RS4 and was disappointed when the S5 didn't get one. I saw a picture of the RS5 and it had that rear valence so I decided I must have one on my S5!!!

I hate that fact that the starting price of the A5 is 40k USD

Is there anyway Car and Driver would be wrong?

Well based off Audi's website the starting price for a 2008 A4 6 speed quatrro is 37,250, I would assume that the A5 won't be far off from this price. Fourty grand for a base A5 seems reasonable, of course if the price was lower that would be even better.

Let's just hope that the options won't have a killer price tag.

Yes, as soon as it is delivered I post the deep sea blue foto's, was told on Saturday 1st that it is dockside in Germany awaiting shipping, should be soon now hopefully

I ordered my A5 over this past weekend and since the ordering system in the US just opened up they didn't have a lot more information for me.


So, would you happen to know if that is an Audi part or after market part? Also, is the front grille standard for the A5 or is that special order too?

Lastly, what are your thoughts about extra window tinting versus the slight tint that comes standard with all Audi cars? [I might start a new thread asking this.]

I don't know the parts name--don't think it'll be a standard part at first (not until the RS5 comes out at least). Front grille? Do you mean that chrome one the S5 has? The A5 just has a black grill.
Thoughts on tinting: In LA I've seen too many people get tickets for window tinting and honestly I don't need to be one of them. If I do tint mine it will be very little... but I doubt I will.

Thanks for the info. I was referring to the front area around the fog lights.

Yeah, I wouldn't tint it much, just enough to keep the interior somewhat cool from the hot sun over the summer. Was just curious if the standard tinting that comes from Audi does a decent job at this already?
