new air filter, aftermarket ones?

what do you have to do to make a car faster, cheapest quickest way?

Maybe an extra 100bhp

Cheers

For a total extra 100bhp reliably it's not going to be cheap. You'll want a remap and possibly exhaust and k&n filter, that's likely to get you most of the way there.

To progress any further than that you will be looking at bigger turbos, injectors, intercoolers. Beyond that nitrous, methanol injection, and mapping witchcraft.

Remap will be the quickest and easiest way for 40 extra ponies. Decat (leaving the MOT and legislation out of it) on top will net you another 25-ish which is all you're really going to get the relatively easy and cheap way.

After that it goes downhill rather quickly as you're into the big bucks compounding all you need to build bigger power: starting with a hybrid turbo, meth, different sensors to cope with the extra charge air, intercooler, exhaust etc..

ok turbo and nitro way above my league however

A remap i can do, stage one is 33 bhp from what im told at a cost of £300

Airfilter, £120 with labour 20 bhp

And a exhaust, how much, will that do another 20bhp?

that 73bhp, im sure you will fell the difference on an extra 73 ponies, yes?

He's referring to removal of DPF and caralytic converter. It would invalidate your MOT, and therefore your insurance. As to whether it'll be discovered, or you'd declare it, is another question entirely.

A good remap with a intake/filter and deleted exhaust silencers/backbox will get you anywhere from 300-330bhp depending on luck, health of the car, and skill of your remapper. It'd be MOT and insurance safe.

Remap by Bobby Singh will get you into the 310 - 320bhp range. It's the torque that's impressive with a remap on the 3.0tdi, 720nm.
Had mine remapped by Bobby a few weeks ago.
Totally transformed the car. Mines also a A5 3.0tdi.

I got 310bhp from remap and back box delete. Air filter doesn't really give any gains on the diesel.

As said Bobby Singh Racing gets you about 320bhp from just a remap!

DPF only needs to be deleted when you run a hybrid turbo and high boost over 360-380 bhp.

Bobby has 505bhp from his 3.0tdi :) This is DPF delete, fuel pump upgrade, hybrid turbo and special remap. :) Which isn't a lot of parts really for that figure. Bobby put all the time and research in to get above 505bhp.
