ok so a remap is £300Remap will be the quickest and easiest way for 40 extra ponies. Decat (leaving the MOT and legislation out of it) on top will net you another 25-ish which is all you're really going to get the relatively easy and cheap way.
After that it goes downhill rather quickly as you're into the big bucks compounding all you need to build bigger power: starting with a hybrid turbo, meth, different sensors to cope with the extra charge air, intercooler, exhaust etc..
ok turbo and nitro way above my league howeverFor a total extra 100bhp reliably it's not going to be cheap. You'll want a remap and possibly exhaust and k&n filter, that's likely to get you most of the way there.
To progress any further than that you will be looking at bigger turbos, injectors, intercoolers. Beyond that nitrous, methanol injection, and mapping witchcraft.
He's referring to removal of DPF and caralytic converter. It would invalidate your MOT, and therefore your insurance. As to whether it'll be discovered, or you'd declare it, is another question entirely.ok so a remap is £300
whats a decat?
does it invalidate insurance and MOT
obviously insurance company will never know
but what about the stage 1 remap and air filter and exhaust? He's referring to removal of DPF and caralytic converter. It would invalidate your MOT, and therefore your insurance. As to whether it'll be discovered, or you'd declare it, is another question entirely.
A good remap with a intake/filter and deleted exhaust silencers/backbox will get you anywhere from 300-330bhp depending on luck, health of the car, and skill of your remapper. It'd be MOT and insurance safe.but what about the stage 1 remap and air filter and exhaust?
