2007 Audi S5 4.2 V8, Manual, Non Res Miltek Downpipes & full catback, 034Motorsport intake
Hi, before I explain my problem I've had a look through the forums for similar issues and I can confirm that this is not directly amp related (the garage I bought it from had it sent to a specialist for repair since it had a cover on it with the bose repair specialist sticker on it indicating a previous repair. They tested it and its was working properly so no issue there). I noticed that there was no sound coming from my front right speakers when I picked up my car from a dealer in january. I turned the balance all the way to the right and sound is coming from the rear speakers just fine and the bass speaker in the door is working, however the tweeter in the top of the door and the mid range in the dash are definitely not outputting sound. I bought an OBDeleven reader (for those that dont know it's a cross between a bluetooth obd reader and a vcds/vagcom) and scanned for faults now I have the amp back in the car. Under the sound system module I get static errors for 'Short to circuit B+' for the offending speakers (ignore all the other errors in green in the screenshot as these are from running the car with the amp removed from the car, the fault code is a single intermittent open circuit and the timestamp makes sense for this) . Both me and the mechanic have had the door panel off to look for breaks in the wire and found nothing obvious but it's still very possible, is this likely the issue? Or could it be a blown speaker driver? And what is the reccommended next step, should I find an auto electrician to search for a break in the wiring? And is it possible to get at the dash mounted speaker units without removing the dash entirely? Ps if anyone has any wiring diagrams for a 2007 s5 with b&o to help indicate where the speaker wiring runs I'd appreciate it! Apologies for the multiple questions in one and thanks for any advice/help in advanced!!
