Brake pads warning

Sorry to bump this but I had my brake pad sensor go off when I went to start it a few days ago. Was a little perplexed as not a whole long time ago since I replaced them with Brembo pads. Did a quick run and tested emergency stop to see if I could notice binding/grinding or reduced performance and all seemed fine... in fact very responsive by the reaction of Mrs - yelp of "WTF was that for?" Anyway did a visual on all four (only outer as was at the shops) and masses of pad left so can only assume it may have been the fact that the car had been sat in the blazing sun. On returning from shops no warning light and none since. Anyone else witnessed similar?

Strange one Moom, never heard that one before but then again I guess blazing sun in Stockport is not a common occurence either eh????? But I do not see how heat should cause this warning????
Yeah I was on holiday in Wales, and anything sunny for over 5 minutes (over 18 degrees) is blazing heat to me lol.
Just wondered if it had been sat for a day or two in the heat/direct sun could have caused it. I thought the sensor was a wire in the pad that shorts on the disc so does sound odd. Having said that my mechanic says it's not unheard of for cars sat in the sun to throw sporadic faults that are obviously wrong.

Cheers Dave that's kind of what I wanted to hear... the fact they are an 'indicator' not an alarm. Last time I got new pads I did so just on mechanics advice so wasn't even aware I had brake wear sensors lol. Then as I went for non OEM I didn't expect they'd have wear indicators either. So at least I now know that (providing they're working properly) that I've at least got something to remind me to check my brakes every now and then ?
