Hi guys

My S5 just came back from the dealers and they reckon they have sorted the problem, but all i can hear with boot open is rattling with not much pressure coming from the sub. Inside the car at low volumes only i hear the rattle, at a loud volume you cant hear it as much, but not much bass at all.

I need advice on what to do next..i read on a previous thread that some cars have has sub and amp replaced.

What do i do next? Really getting on my nerves that Audi wont acknowledge that there is a problem. It F*%^s me off.

I had a similar problem in a BMW I owned. I took the car to a stereo install shop. They found it was a loose connection. This may not be the case with your car, but a reputable car stereo shop might be able to help you out. Sort of like taking your car to a specialist instead of using a "Jack of all trades" like the dealership.

Good luck, I know how annoying things like this can be.

Whats ur B&O sub performing like....can you feel a lot of pressure in the boot? Is it rattling. Or is it perfect
Mine sounds really good, nice bass with no rattles. Then again, I only had my car 5 days before I left.

Besides the sub, it can also be the rear braking light that rattles, try to play some music (with rattles) and hold the brake light very tight. If it disappears, this was the problem.

There is also a known issue with the speaker cables vibrating that makes the same sort of sound. I am going to have all of the cables wrapped in foam tape.

I had a similar problem with the standard system. At certain frequencies the sub would vibrate or cause something else to vibrate. Dealer first replaced the speaker, still had the problem, Dealser then replaced the whole rear shelf, still had the problem, dealer then took the car for two and a half days to get to the bottom of the problem. The problem is now 80% fixed. They say they put some sound deadening pads and foam packing around the speaker and shelf.
up to now I think I can live with the fix..
Just one thing about the dealer, the guy who was dealing with the problem was great, the guy who I collected the car from on the Saturday morning said "We have done all we can and if it still rattles then you will have to live with it". I dont think so !!!

Yes, my sub faces down into the boot/trunk. I think that's how it's supposed to be.

Try holding/fixing the 3rd brake light on the rear window, this can cause serious rattle too with loud music!
