So i finally got it in and installed today. the b&b system i got was the non res X-pipe sport system. it is perfect in the way it sounds. no drone. DO not do the res system if you are thinking of putting in a B&B exhuast system on your S5. TX will agree :thumbs up: . also keep in mind if you are asking for this system make sure you get the revised system. the right exhuast tips sit 1/4 inch to the left more than it should. i thought B&B was going to send me a corrected system after TXcarguy commented to B&B about this problem but oh well thats one more thing on the list to get fixed :wall:

has anyone ever seen more hp from a B&B system?????

Wooo Hoo... Well Im in the UK, and im ordering mine at the end of the month. Ordering the new X-Pipe Version.

Just spoke to Audi today and have confirmed it will not have any affect on my warranty if i changed the exhaust!

Makes me happy. Can you get some sound clips put up mate.

i must say Mark at BB exhaust really took care of me on the system i bought. there was an issue with the exhuast not looking even from side to side and there was no problem having them send me another muffler with the correct adjustment. Thanks Mark.

Hi, well I got the exhaust installed today. It IS loud. Will let it go for a week or two, so that it carbons up a bit before deciding if it is too loud. Also the LHS muffler has a slight vibration coming from inside. Could be a baffle or something not quite right. Will get a local exhaust guy too look at it as sending back to America from Australia would cost more than the exhaust itself :)
As for the quality of the rest of the system, even Audi ( who did the install )commented on how well the exhaust was manufactured. They were impressed. A couple of small issues already known about such as the offset of the RHS muffler and some extra support where the x-pipe seperates were all that was required.

The sound is great. On a 5 minute drive from Audi to home I have a guy lean out the window of a B** to yell out to me how good it sounded. The note starts normal, from idle, with a hint of burble and gets progressively louder to about 2000. After that the note changes dramatically while under load it is definitely quieter from there up. The note basically drops in pitch and volume then starts to build again.

At speeds of 60kmh or more without acceleration the cabin drone is non-existant. ONCE YOU PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN, YOU HEAR IT. The sound from engine compression when coming off the accelerater is particularly good, and will only improve once the pipes get the carbon build up.

Will post a video asap.

Overall I am 98% happy. 1% each for the LHS baffle noise that comes in around 2800 rpm and also cabin noise. Hopefully both of these can be fixed up without too much trouble and I'll then be 100% happy :)

Excellant Stuff Ben. Really looking forward to seeing a video of this.

I really want to go for this exhaust, but im worried about cabin drone. What i dont want is to have to crank up the B&O system as a result of cabin drone.

Im trying to decide between this and the non res miltek. Being in the UK, miltek is easy to get hold of... just leave it all to APS.

This B&B i will have to pay about £300 on shipping... but if its that much better i dont mind.

For those who have miltek, has anyone has problems with the tips. I have seen a few posts lately and many pictures i have seen show the tips all rusted?

You won't have to worry about that with the B&B X-pipe version. ccomptom and I took a ride in JOHNTCLARK's car this weekend at a local car meet and I absolutely loved the sound. I was specifically listening for any type of annoying cabin drone. Yes, the interior sound was a bit louder in the lower RPM range for a brief period as Ben described, but I didn't consider it to be annoying at all. In fact, I commented to the guys how pleasant it actually sounded! It's a type of sound that I personally would enjoy hearing. Of course, these types of things are always subjective.

I'm going to be getting my resonated B&B exhaust switched to an X-pipe shortly, so that's why I was particularly interested in checking out JOHNT's system. After the drive in his car, I left smiling and can't wait to get mine switched out now. :)

Thanks for the info Tx

When you get the X-pipe installed i hope to see some Videos.

As its a new system, not many Videos out there, and im so close to wanting to pull the trigger.

My car goes in for a replacement bumper next week, as a result of some idiot in a car park.

As soon as thats done, my first two mods will be the Exhaust and some HOEN's Fog lights....

Video

We definitely need a good quality AUDIO recording along wth the video. We need a clip from behind, revving engine....another taking off and accelerating.....and one from the interior, going through the gears. I have not installed an aftermarket exhaust yet...still unsure which route to take. The recent video we have all seen with the resonted B&B with the AWE downpipes sounded nice. We need to compare that system with the non-resonated B&B with X pipe.

I don't have one, but ccomptom does. His is an older one that records to DV tape. I'll hit him up and see if he plans to make it out to the meet on Saturday.

Apparently, you must have missed this thread that has audio/video of the non-resonated B&B with X-pipe (a/k/a, B&B 'Sport' exhaust). Please update your profile to display your location. Thanks.

Will get video over the weekend hopefully I can capture the real sound, each of the videos on net still don't really give the best impression of how good this sounds in person, will try for the directly behind, take-off and gear changes then the interior. Fingers crossed anyway.

Michael, nice one. But were you going to get the tips realigned. Shouldn't cost too much from an exhaust specialist, would look better with both sides centred. Even though the double walls don't get too hot also might be wise to keep them as far from the valence as possible to stop possible warping.

the position of the tips doesnt bother me much, i think they're ok. The only complaint for this exhaust or...maybe any other exhaust is the annoying drone between 1800~2000 rpm...kinda bothers me, but i'll get used to it. Other than that...the exhaust note is sick

Fair enough re placement, as for the cabin noise I'm really starting to relish the sound. I'm finding myself accidently dropping down a gear for no apparent reason and flooring it just to hear it some more. Love it.
