Audi has tried to banish the hairdresser image of its TT for good by launching the most performance-focused version to date - the TTS.

The car has Audi’s magnetic ride system as standard and 270bhp squeezed out of its 2.0-litre Turbo FSI petrol engine..........more here - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/default.asp?storyId=17447

It looks pretty good... just not so sure about the front bumper though. I like the gadgets that's included but too bad it doesn't have the better quattro system like the s5/rs4.

I'm certain that the new TT does use the newer 60:40 quattro system. This is now suppose to be across the board as far as I know.

What does suprise me though is the new version with the rear sports diff hasn't been added to this car....maybe they are leaveing that for the TT-RS.

The new TT handles brilliantly and I have no doubt that this will be even better....when the reviewers get their hands on this one don't be suprised if it get very highly rated. :D

^really the TT-S uses the Torsen system? I was under the impression that all TT's use the Haldex system where the torque is split 85/15. I hope you're right though cause I wouldn't mind driving one.
Here's a brief description from AOA about the TT quattro system: http://www.audiusa.com/audi/us/en2/new_cars/Audi_TT/TT_Coupe/technology.html

With that weight and magnetic ride it will definitely handle well. I wish the S5 had that feature. Can't wait to see more pics of it at Detroit.

My mistake, I thought Haldex was also made 60:40 too.

If this really does turn out to be 35k, as the Pistonheads thread suggests then it makes the S5 brilliant value for money at 40k.
A 4 cyl.2.0 FSiT with Haldex 4WD v's V8 4.2 FSi and Torsen AWD in a GT body - no contest.
Also as the 3.2 version specced up was 32k, I think the TT-S may end up being a bit cheaper than that. But it virtually eliminates the case for the 3.2 and I think Audi will drop it later in the year.
