Hello all, I plan on buying an 2011 A5 with automatic gearbox and just wanted to see what people's opinions are.

Humble mate that's the ideal engine for the A5. Great car. Just check that the service history is good. Those engines if serviced will generally last for ever.

245PS TDI has s-tronic (dual clutch transmission). A 2011 would likely have the 2nd generation 0B5 DCT which whilst better than the first still had issues. Check the service history - it should have had the transmission serviced 3 times now - and test drive carefully - if gearchanges are not smooth then it may be a risk.
