hi all was hoping someone could help me a little.
i have a Audi A5 2.0 TDI Quattro Sportsback Engine CGLC
i was getting a "low oil pressure please turn off engine"
i changed the sensor and the light didnt come back on then after maybe 4 months the light started to come back on again especially when i was coming to a traffic light or stop. i then ended up doing a full service on my car changing oil, filters etc as my service was over due by a bit.
that stopped the light from coming back on for a while and now recently it has come back on once or twice,i scanned my car and the oil temp was at 102c when it tripped the low oil pressure sensor.
what i done recently was had vcds hooked up and my car was at idle and i revved my car until it got the oil temp to around 105c and that made the low oil pressure sensor trip and gave me the warning.
im lead to believe it is the oil pump hex key that gets worn out. my car has done 135,000 miles.
i brought myself a oil pressure tester kit i wanted to know what bar or psi am i looking for while in idle and also while revving the car to see if the oil pressure is indeed dropping.
i can drive my car around normal totally fine but if i put my foot down like in sports driving like a mad mad harsh breaking and slamming my foot on the accelerator and shooting off that usual will make the oil temp touch 102-105C were it will trip the sensor.
what im thinking of doing is driving my car until its at optimal temperature then testing at idle and while revving the car at 2000rmp
then getting the oil temp high to 102-105C and then parking up to see if the pressure drops while idle and while revving.
what bar or psi do i need to be looking out for?
sorry for the long message wanted to give as much detail as possible for some help.
thanks in advance hope to hear from you all soon
