So i'm looking to get more hp, and i've been thinking about swapping my quattro 2l tfsi (auto 7sp) to a 3.0t is it like plug and play ?

Oh also i tried to look for a 3.0t a5 (s5) sadly there ain't any. So if any of you guys can help or guide me, would be much appreciated. Thank you

It will be plug and play, but A LOT of plugs and playing around.

Personally, I would save some money, sell the 2l and get an S5, unless you have a garage with tools, ramps etc to do in your own time?

If it is, it'd be sweet i don't mind leaving my car at a mechanic and get it done as it is cheap to do it where i live actually, even sourcing an engine as well as i'm guessing that's the only thing i'd need to swap as the transmission is the same... And no i don't have the right tools sadly

When I say plug n play, it will be, but it isn't just the engine!
ECUs, wiring looms, front rad packs, heat exchanger and piping for the supercharger, exhaust, then as it's quad, you'll have to change the rear bumper. Not sure on the fuel system being the same or enough for the 3.0T engine.

These types of projects are normally done by doing it yourself as it can get a long process and expensive and your mechanic may leave town.

What year/spec etc is your 2.0 quattro?

Hmmm true as it is SC'ed not turbo'ed as well, it's sport i suppose b8 2012, because if it's about an exhaust, and wiring also the engine it can be done pretty fast as i wouldn't need any custom job no ?

It's not impossible, just I think there will be a lot of messing around. After all this you will then want to upgrade the brakes!

Not sure if the subframe is the same either. I'm no mechanic or have I done an engine swap so I can't guide you fully other than say, in my opinion, it would be best to get an S5 that may need some work, so you get it cheaper.

I found a V8 one dirt cheap but i don't wanna mess with a 4.2... especially in maintenance, and it's a manual which is not convenient for me also it's a 2dr car... Found an A6 quattro which was expensive (2010 i guess), thanks for the help bro,' hopefully it won't be as annoying as i've seen in several other forums 🙃

The thing with the V8 is it sounds amazing! but your gonna need alot of work to make it as powerful at the V6 Supercharger

Exactly which is why i want the superchager 3.0l ... Simple pulley upgrade and software and boom 🤷‍♂️ which is why i'm so keen on doing this swap and i just want to know what are the actual components that i'd need

Like Dave said your gonna need basically the engine, ECU, other related modules wiring looms etc and even then it probably wont work exactly like an S5 would be in terms of ADS and MMI functions over the engine

Is there any reason your desperately holding onto the A5 you have now? I know how it is to be attached to your car lol
Its almost guaranteed that selling your A5 and buying a S5 would save you money

Functions aren't an issue since i just want a normal 3.0t engine like the one found in the a6 and the a7 as well

Nope, country doesn't allow to import cars that are 5 years older than the current year lol, and weirdly i can source an engine that's 10000 years old.. no issues there 🤷‍♂️
