Well i had an enquiry to work on this car a while back, the owner uses the car for long motorway driving over to Germany on a monthly basis. He had the dealer prep it before he got it, but the owner was very disappointed in their lack to improve any imperfections.

Here are some pics how the car turned up:

So initially I rinsed the car off, then cleaned the alloys with Bilberry Wheel cleaner, Surfex APC on the arches and tyres, also done the fuel cap and the door shuts

Also cleaned the engine bay with Surfex APC and a detailing brush to aggrigate more stubborn grease/dirt

I then Snowfoamed the car

Rinsed, then washed with Swissvax Car Bath, 2BM with a CG Lambswool wash mitt

rinsed the car again, then detarred, clayed, rinsed, washed once more and rinsed. Dried with dryer from CarWashnWax and taped up the car ready from correction. Took some pics of the swirls:

Couple of paint readings taken also:

(Not sure why the rest didnt upload, range between 130microns and 143microns)

The only "Mid" correction shot I got as concious of of the time.....

(Left corrected, right not)

The alloys were also cleaned with Swissvax Cleaner Fluid and Autobahn was applied. Tyres were treated with Swissvax Penu.

Engine bay was dressed with Chemical Guys Silk Shine Dressing.

Exhaust were treated to Swissvax Metal polish.

Windows cleaned with Chemical Guys Streak Free Window Cleaner

Interior was cleaned with APC, Leather treated with Swissvax Leather cleaner. The Mats were cleaned with APC and the pressure washer. and rest was vac'ed.

Hi, I'm completely new to the whole concept of "detailing", my A5 is not due till August but when it arrives I want to look after it so my question is how much approximately does what you did on this vehicle cost and how often would it be required?

Thanks

I bet.

You probably added about 5K to its value.

Nice job
Maybe a little optimistic :yikes:, but definately made the car more desireable, but from now on it stays in excellent condition as i have a maintenance contract with the owner  and very much an education for the owner in the correct wash techniques to minimise the need for correction again. As a detailer, it would be silly to do the car and not show the owner how to keep it to that level and usually im on call to any of my customers just for general advise, its a good relationship i have built with most of them.
