Audi A5 2.0T (Safe Mode) Component Protection & Connect plug n play

Hi Team

The A5 Coupe that I have been using since 2022, which is a 2012 model, has an active recall for connect plug & play. Took the car to authorized dealer in Perth, WA and had to return without service being carried out. The reason given was that "they are unable o successfully connect the data plugs to the vehicle due to connection issues". I was disappointed due to fact that there was no information prior to reaching their centre for service appointment and wasted 3 hours.

However, since last week the car has gone to "SAFE" mode with almost all the warning light on dashboard glowing, expect for the centre screen and odometer nothing else works. Car is running with no issues to start and stop functions but no air conditioning.

Does this two have any interconnection or it is two separate issues?

I am more concerned about the "SAFE" mode, how to find the root cause of this? Thanks in advance for the help.

Dunno. Read more on here
This sounds like nonsense to me. What is the recall campaign number ? This generation of B8 platform MMI systems was not subject to the Audi Connect retrofit solution due to the sunset of 3G data networks. Early B9 platform MIB systems that used 3G modems for certain safety-related functions did have an add-on solution that connects (permanently) to the OBDII diagnostic port.
Regarding the SAFE message in the IC, post a picture of it, or it didn't happen. --g
