Will do.

Going to rip the centre console out tomorrow afternoon and di the install of the button and the wiring inside the car as apparently this takes as long to do as fitting it?

Then come friday we got more time to play with different heights and then get it all calibrated without having to rush about.

The wiring will be a doodle from the suspension as it will be up on a ramp so me and the mechanic will be doing that bit together and with the car above us Im hoping it will save loads of time. Only thing got to decide on is where to instal the IRC module.

yeah its just making sure its all nice and tidy that would be the harder bit. I've looked into this and some people have fitted the switch inside the ashtray? not sure how it works properly but worst case im sure you can fit it inside the arm rest, maybe tucked up on the higher bit right at the back if that makes sense?

Yea I'm putting the button inside the ashtray too where the cig lighter is as I don't use it and from what I see it looks like a perfect fit.

Plus then I can hide it and reveal it in a moment of James Bond madness lol. TBH, I'll prob rarely use it as I have the IRC module but it is handy for when the phone is not on that app I guess or its not in auto mode which from what Im seeing it will be most of the time.

well lets hope its a direct fit! if you need to use a 12v socket there's always the one under the arm rest :) look forward to seeing how it goes! I've had to stop on doing any bits on my car :( service revealed me needing 3 tyres, new front brake pads, wipers, wheel alignment haha all booked in for Saturday though so that'll be sorted :)

Yes, didn't think of that. Will use the pos and neg of the cig lighter for the wiring. Then just need to find another pos.

It says batt neg, batt pos and ign. It that simply, earth, perm live and switched live in that order?

yeah I believe that is right buddy, check the manual though that come with the coilovers though just to make sure

Yea, thats what it says lol, Batt neg, Batt Pos and IGN.

Right, got the IRC module installed and running.

Put this in the engine bay under the plastic covering at the bottom of the windscreen. Batt pos to the + battery terminal there, Batt neg to an earth point and IGN to a switched live in the fuse box thats under there at the drivers side.

Then mounted the module on a bit of the actual car uing the strong double sided tape I stuck my spoiler down with.

Calibrated it after but having re read the manual will redo this as it says windy roads with accelerating and braking is best.
But its already to go once the suspension is installed tomorrow :)

Oh, not putting the button in yet, no need and it looks a right pain to get inside the car with the wire for it.

just running without it for the moment? trying to wire most things from outside to inside and keeping it tidy is normally a tad tricky lol

Quattro Ry

Mate this is slightly off piste and apologies for cynically hijacking thread - Quattro Ry, make sure that you actually need new tyres etc. My stealer suggested I needed three new ones because down to canvas, illegal almost, etc. I declined, went to my indy tyre guy who had a look and said 'stealer talking rubbish to get you to buy the Pirellis stealer had on offer"!!! Warning - beware dealer advice not in writing.

Yea, the button is only needed if you don't have the IRC module and Bilstein app. With the IRC module that gives you more control so until I can run that it in perfectly I will just leave it out.

Started this morning.

Even though the wires are good quality and protected I have braiding which Im slotting over them all.

Pics throughout the day.

yeah I did look cos they pointed one out to me when I was there, the alignment was out so the tyre was almost showing the cords on the inner half, I was replacing the rear 2 anyway it was just a tad annoying after paying out for 2 then needing another! thanks for the info though, I will always be checking the dealers advice before spending out on anything they say!

Ben, hows the coilovers coming along ;) should be halfway through by now :)

sorry didn't realise that thi had a second page! couple of things though, that dog looks grumpy as fark under your car! lol oh and A5's look so weird on the ramp with no wheels from that angle :D!

Lol, yes Charlie is waiting for Dean to kick his toy lol.

Does look weird there I have to say. I was just sitting there and thought I would grab a pic.

On to the rears already, fronts are done know and wires up to the module. Will get both rears installed and run the wires along the brake lines to the front passenger side and follow the brake lines with the wire from the front left one up in to the engine bay and to the back bit where I have the module.

Will get a pic of that later when the car is lower :)

yeah worth grabbing a pic, im a little bit like that!

sounds good mate, im guessing the wires that come with the coilovers are pretty long then? Bet you can't wait now!

4.5mtrs for the rears and about 2m I guess for the front. Plenty long enough yes.

Nope, cant wait lol

Can always do a proper write up and review maybe.

yeah think that might be long enough haha, can't wait to see what it looks like on the car!

Home.

WOW, what a difference. In comfort mode it is smoother, by some margin. Very controlled with it too. Over the bumps I normally try to avoid it glides over them. All that while still having less body roll.

Sport mode is wow even more. Feels so planted and connected on the road. Feel every single bump, knock and cranny but man it does not move lol.

Not played with the Auto modes yet, just Comfort and Sport. In Auto mode it has the Comfort+, Normal and Sport+ but I need to read fully to understand how it works.

A few pics. First is off the front being too low, we adjusted this higher. I don't like it when the wheels are tucked in.
