Is the silver around the grille actual chrome or just plastic but painted silver to look like chrome? I'm thinking of 'dechroming' the chrome around the windows when I get my car but most body shops won't touch it as you need special primers etc to stop the paint flaking off! I'm even thinking about buying some black tape off of ebay which BMW users use to get the 'dechromed' look??

Thanks ccompton but that grille is the standard grille we get over here on the 3.0TDI version which is what I've ordered.
