I have searched this forum and others high and low for this information and keep hitting dead end after dead end. When I find an answer it is always "this has been discussed and is in other threads" but I never find the ACTUAL information I need, or the links are dead because the topic is 7 years old!

I have just updated the Software in my 2012 A5 Cab (3G High) from HNav_US_P0118_D1 to HNav_US_K0133_3_D1

now I wish to update the Nav database version from NAR 5.5.5 to NAR 6.12.1

I cannot find a place to download this newer 2015/2016 version. Lots of posts on this and other Audi forums that tell me it's readily available but with no links and no sources. Is it true that I will need to purchase this online for a couple of hundred dollars? That's wild for 7 year old maps. Yes, I do have a cell phone and use Waze most of the time, but this should be easy enough to do! Any help is appreciated.

That's the place I had been looking, but I thank you for pushing me to try again. My initial assumption was that the 2015/16 maps were the best I could achieve, and I couldn't find them on that link. I eventually tried the 2017/2018 maps and have successfully updated!

For anybody else who stumbles upon this thread with a similar unit to me (again, I have a 2012 A5 Cab with the 3G High):

On that thread above on the VW forum look for post #12 which has the most up to date version that one can achieve with this system (as far as I've been able to discover). It links to the 6.16.2 (2017/2018) North American maps.

Then on post #60 you can find the download for the "activation" information to download to an SD card.
