I have a blackberry world edition and it on occasion (20%) does the same annoying thing--did in the 08 and 09 model. I don't know how to stop it either.Hey guys,
I have a Blackberry Curve which works very well with my S5's Bluetooth, but at the initiation of a call (ie I pushed dial but the ring has not yet occured) I frequently get a loud buzzing noise, and other times a harsh click just prior to ringing. Not only is it a bit embarrassing if some one in the car with me hears that, I am afraid I could blow a speaker (esp with the click which I fear may have the same effect as clipping the amp) Does anyoneelse have this problem, and if so do you have a fix. I hope this hasn't already been covered, a search produced no related results. If I missed something already posted, please smack me on the wrist and redirect me please.
Thanks
Please, before making a sarcastic statement, read the whole post. As I stated, I did a search and didn't find an answer to my problem. In addition, I politely asked to be redirected to a post that might address my question, so telling me to "do a search really didn't help ". Of course, I did say to smack me on the wrist if there was already a thread available answering my question, so if your blunt statement was made in jest, related to the tone of my comment, as I am hoping, I am sorry for making a stink. This has been discussed ad nauseam on the site.
Do a search..
I read the post and can't see how a search would have missed this since it's been discussed a billion times on the site. Please, before making a sarcastic statement, read the whole post. Thanks for the reference, though again, given with sarcasm? Its hard to tell from written words so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that none was intended. I did find this thread in my search prior to posting, but the thread was not directed at the function of a Blackberry, and no solution to the problem was given. I started this thread in hopes that something had been learned since the inception of that thread, at least in the world of Blackberry. Interestingly, a reference is given in the thread you mentioned to another thread which was started by me prior to my even acquiring my S5. It started as a "how well does the bluetooth feature work" thread which lead to a few complaints of noises without solutions. I guess someone at Audi needs to reprogram the system to mute the audio until the phone call connects. This would eliminate the problem. Until then I will just turn the volume down manually until connecting as I have learned to do.

Wasn't being sarcastic, just trying to help you be self-sufficient. But since you don't want to be, here you go.....

I'm of the opinion that "smart" phones do this, but i'm not quite sure because there hasn't been a poll posted to actually validate it. It seems to me that people with blackberry's, iPhones, etc. seem to report the problem more than those with regular phones. Maybe you could start a poll to see if this is the case. Or if you have a regular cell phone, pair it so see if you get the interference like your Blackberry gives you. Thanks for the reference, though again, given with sarcasm? Great thought. I will try pairing my wife's phone this weekend and see if the results are any different. Unfortunately, I will still be stuck with the noises in the long run because I need the other features of the Blackberry. I will let you know what the results are with the stupid phone test!!!Thanks for the reference, though again, given with sarcasm? The 5170 MMI upgrade was meant to improve the nokia compatability.I get same problem with most Nokia phones - I work for Nokia and can confirm problem is linked to car system :-(
My Nokia 6555 has worked flawlessly with the car. I have had zero problems with noise.I get same problem with most Nokia phones - I work for Nokia and can confirm problem is linked to car system :-(
