I was on my way to work Monday morning and traffic was heavy. At some point, it came to a crawl. So I am in the middle lane creeping along and a guy in silver blue bmw 550 gets my attention and shouts -

"That aint nothing but the truth" "damn what a beautiful car".

I just smiled and said Thank you!

I smiled all the way to work...yes even in the worst traffic.

in my opinion, the s5 is the most beautiful car ever produced. and that doesn't have anything to do with me being an s5 owner

it's the most beautiful <100K car . IMO the Aston Martin DBS, Alpha Romeo 8C and Maserati Grant Turismo have got the top 3 spots. Then comes the A5 S-line [he ducks as laptops are thrown over his head]

Great story Uber - makes you feel good all over. Think I already related my similar experience from a few months back when, leaving the office and having slowed down to crawl in traffic, guy on the inside lane, again in a BMW 5-something, was shouting something at me. Thinking I was in for a bit of good ole road-rage, I wound down the passenger window and he shouted across "lovely car mate - sounds terrific!" (Thanks Milltek!). He even held back on the entry slip to the main route, window still down, to hear me give it some - and I duly obliged!

Re. beautiful cars, my son reminded me a couple of weeks ago just how damn gorgeous the Alfa 159 Sportwagon was as he pointed one out. Not the first car that springs to mind but in the sub-£30K category, I can't think of a design as beautifully resolved.

Well, couple of months back I was at the "scottish modified car show" at Ingliston. Alfa Romeo had a stand there and they had an absolutely gorgeous white 159 Ti there. It did get a lot of attention - being at a modified car show, and being a stock factory car, people certainly loved it.

My immediate thought was that if I ever had to downgrade from the A5, I'd me more than happy with that.
