Hello

I would like to install adaptative lights as retrofit installation. I've already got Bi Xenon lights and I would like to understand if I need a specific module to add or if I have to change the whole lights?

Thank you in advance to help me.

For the curious, I was working on how to do this with an ex-Valeo engineer and while we were able to get it to work on a test bench, ultimately it's not a viable retrofit for the majority of users. There are a few custom lighting specialists who can make this happen for you, but expect to pay dearly for it.

It will involve tearing apart the lights and wiring in a custom control unit, and replacing the LEDs. There was a guy called Parkes Dynamic Retrofits who was doing it somewhat affordably, but I'm not sure if he also did the front lights. He also sadly seems to be no longer trading.

In short, there is no off-the-shelf option to do this. It requires custom or heavily modified headlights.

I have these fitted (they only do the B8 front headlights)- really good but had to send mine off to them in Germany to be opened & retro-fitted, which took about 2 weeks:

Wow didn't know there were readily available commercial solutions for the front lights. What did it cost in the end to have them done for you, if you don't mind?

They are listed on the website showing the current price is 349.95 Euros and the return shipping with DHL was about 30 Euros.
I had mine painted internally in Matt black as well which adds another 479.90 Euros now, but I got a 10% discount for the combo (not sure if they are still offering that now as it was a couple of years ago before Brexit- so no duties which also may have changed).
Top quality work, so highly recommended.

Here you go- the lights look stunning at night & the DRL's are a brighter version than OEM which do look better.
Also, when the key fob unlocks they do a little sweep routine from Amber to White.
