I recently had a message on screen on my 2016 A5 coupe saying ABS has a problem but its ok to drive . As the car was booked in for a service at Audi I was happy to leave until a week later . The night before service ABS light came on red , message saying stop car . On the service day I was informed it was now going to cost £1800 pounds to put right . Not really fair in my book as I was being told the car was ok to drive until suddenly the opposite, and all at only 37000 miles.
Anyone else had this prob and cost .??

Is take it to an independent for a second opinion. Can you post a diagnostic scan from VCDS?

No John , haven't got that info.
Have taken for 2nd opinion and the mechanic is looking into the re-setting part of problem which I believe from Audi only they can do !!!!!!. The sensor by module is at fault. Who knows whether module is no good!!
Just a complete con by Audi .
This surely is a softwate issure. Audi have told me an internal memo was put out regarding this issue but not too the general public I assume .

Geoff purchase a VCDS system and it will pay for itself very quickly. As you are now finding out the official guys seem to just wanna take yer money and run, you need to find a good indi VAG specialist!!!

Thanks Simon, am really up against it now . Audi head office passing the buck back to me , am waiting for call from local dealership to see if they are willing to help . Audi blaming me for not taking car in sooner. Albeit under amber light says ok to drive . Took to independant specialist couldn't help. Had heard of the same problem before .
What is a VCDS system .

Hey are you having any other issues on the dash like any malfunctioning gauges or anything at all out of the norm? All it may be is a $14 speed sensor. It's connected to the abs system. I was quoted 3 cows and my first born son as well and I decided to wait a minute do some research, I had plans for my 1st born to wipe my ass one day so ill need him. Anyhow if you are able to scan it look for a speed sensor fault and that's your problem. I went from losing family to $14 and couldn't be happier I waited..IM GONNA BE A DAD!
