Hi,
I am looking to add electric folding mirrors to my A5 cabriolet. Doing lots of research on the subject, I have discovered that the triangular mounts differ between the three models (Coupe, Sportback and Cabriolet).
Does anyone know if the mounts can be transplanted between wing mirrors and has anybody been successful in doing this.

No, cannot be done. They are held by a very strong spring and some kind of locking clip. If you manage to get it off there is no way you ever get it on again.

Hi,
No, didn’t like the sound of moving the springs across, so instead I managed to source the correct set of wing mirrors on ebay. Aside from my apple play kit, it’s my favourite mod and looks so cool. I can confirm that the three different models of A5 have different mounts and so it’s essential to get the correct model number for your car. Hope that helps.
