Hello everyone..
Ok, so I have an UK RHD Audi A5 2.0 D 2012 on UK plates. I have moved to Spain and am in the process of changing registration and require EU headlights.
I have looked into doing this through the lights themselves and it can't be done unfortunately. So herein my dilemma.
I don't want to spent 1300€ on new ones or 800€ on second hand headlights as its already 2K to do this and the ones I have a perfectly fine and as I drive backwards and forwards the UK I don't want to spend stupid money on new ones and even second hand ones are extortionate. So I have a plan!
I have seen some OEM lights, they are £100 each on ebay and a few other sites, but they look different with square boxes in the middle and dont look to have the daytime running lights. Probably why they’re cheap?? My plan is to buy them, run it through the Spanish ITV (MOT equivalent) so I can get the plates and whenever I return to the UK I will put the nice ones back in.: ) It saves a lot of money and they don't look that difficult to unscrew on youtube.
It wouldnt let me post a link to the part Im talking about so if you put this straight into google and choose the ebay options its that one
''Audi A5 8T Front Right Side Headlight 8T0941004AR LHD''
But it says the part number is 8T0941004AR yet fits all 2011-2015 A5's 8T.
I went to Audi Spain for a quote when I first arrived becuase irt was too confusing with the differences between xenon and LED or whatever , and i didnt know so they ran my chassis number and told me I needed part nimbers 8T0941043c and 8T0941044c. (assume Left and right).
So my question is will these other ones work?. arent OEM actually original parts anyway? I think the reference numbers they gave me may be different by country and they are spanish numbers??, so there is every chance these others will be fine and just plug in as normal. I have sent them an email but they are going to bias for sure.
Has anyone bought these? Thanks in advance
Adam
