New to this forum having recently purchased a 2011 Audi A5 convertible S-Line 3.0 TDI. The car had a couple of outstanding recalls so I took it into the local Audi dealer.
I knew when I purchased the car there was an issue with the roof box mechanism, so I requested the garage look at the issue, which cost me £60 diagnostics... Seeing as the salesman was driving a Maclaren I was a little p*****! But not as surprised as to the cost of fixing the issue, £470!! The roof goes up and down with no issues, it obviously limits boot space with the roof up.. No big deal, but i would like to fix it.
It appears the motor which drives the roof box up and down requires replacing. I can get a new motor off eBay for £159, but wondered if anyone has had this issue and how easy it is to replace the motor?
Alternatively, could it be something simpler or cheaper ;-)
