Hi
New to this forum having recently purchased a 2011 Audi A5 convertible S-Line 3.0 TDI. The car had a couple of outstanding recalls so I took it into the local Audi dealer.
I knew when I purchased the car there was an issue with the roof box mechanism, so I requested the garage look at the issue, which cost me ÂŁ60 diagnostics... Seeing as the salesman was driving a Maclaren I was a little p*****! But not as surprised as to the cost of fixing the issue, ÂŁ470!! The roof goes up and down with no issues, it obviously limits boot space with the roof up.. No big deal, but i would like to fix it.
It appears the motor which drives the roof box up and down requires replacing. I can get a new motor off eBay for ÂŁ159, but wondered if anyone has had this issue and how easy it is to replace the motor?
Alternatively, could it be something simpler or cheaper ;-)
