A5 Convertible 2011 model passenger door does not open

I have A5 Convertible (2011 make). The passenger door does not open from outside, once the car is locked and then subsequently unlocked. I need open the door from inside. But once opened and if the car is not locked since then, the door opens from outside without any issue. Any suggestions about the possible causes of this problem.
