A5 - At the dealer

this is something I didn't want to hear.

We had this issue with the VW Passat after the 2001.5 model release. My 98' never experienced this problem in it's 10 years of service but they were the OEM Beru units. I believe once they went to BOSCH, things went downhill quickly.

Wondering if heat is a factor because it's REALLY hot in the engine bay. Not even my 1.8T was this hot; I"m talking about the surrounding platics, shock towers - just too hot to keep you hands on it even after 15 minutes of cool down. It's really hot to the point I may consider a carbon-fiber replacement so I can have custom vents installed. I did this with my Cobra for the same reason.
I can almost understand any component living in this environment, to fail.
