Hi people after breaking down in the dark monday evening then dropping my mobile down the side of the engine when using it as touch. Then losing my rag n ripping the air box off. Theres a sensor on the bottom of the air box I've ripped the wires off it. Could any help with what way around the wire go ? The car runs without it but not used it since has on holiday but I'd like to get it sorted tomorrow as I have a motorway drive home. Please help

I think it could be the flap valve which opens the flap at higher revs to let more air in. Trying to remember my 3.0 tdi airbox, don't think there is anything else. Could be an air intake temp sensor, but they tend to be in the inlet pipe.

If it is the flap wire, is it a 2 wire plug? If so, it may not make a difference which way round? I removed mine anyway to improve low down air flow into the box.

It is there to reduce intake noise at low revs 2500rpm and below.

It may be flagged on a scan as a fault though if not wired up.

Nah, there's a wire. I spent like 1 week trying to figure out what the engine fault code was on my car before I found the plug came loose.
