It's the torque that makes diesels what they are. Generally, you would compare Petrol Power to Diesel Torque. You cant compare petrol power to diesel power.I wonder why diesels aren't made with 400-500hp. Is it due to the problem handling the torque?
For example, our 3.0TDIs have, what I think, is quite a low value of horsepower compared to a petrol equivalent with the same performance figures, however, the diesel torque is higher, and that's what gives the 3.0TDI it's figures.
