So for quite a while now I've been doing bits and bobs to my beloved beast and I'll be making a build thread shortly; however I've been wanting my exhaust changed and I'm thinking about getting Q7 tips put on to a full replacement system.

This is my idea so I just wanted to know everyone's opinion.

Arent the squashed pipes to assist with ground clearance - they wont look right on a non 4X4

Yes, all about departure angle for the rear - angle of ground that the car can drive down then level off onto level ground without grounding the rear. 23 deg for the Q7 from a quick Google search. Same for the front but called approach angle - that's 22 deg for the Q7, but then how many Q7s ever actually go off road and get anywhere near these limits?

Fatter exhausts (or more specifically traditional round tips) would reduce the departure angle as these would be the first part to touch the ground if they weren't 'squashed' at the bottom.

Each to their own with looks though - if you want to put them on an A5 then go for it - it's your car!
