So.. I bought a 2013 S5 Saturday as my 3.0TDI A5 is giving me problems... low and behold the S5 has problems too 😩.

The major one is I can smell fuel sometimes while driving and it seems to be running rich. I think engine oil smells like fuel too.

I've got VCDS so did some data logging on the fuel trims... I don't know exactly how to read them... any ideas?

I think I might know what is causing all this... I noticed taking oil cap off while the car was running there was an incredible amount of pressure.

I think a sign of this is a stuck closed PCV?

Presume that could then cause rich running and fuel in oil?

the 1st thing to do, is to run a full Auto-Scan of all modules.

Done that and she comes back clean

Yes, the oil cap test does indicate a possible PCV problem which this engine seems susceptible to.

Mate you need to find a good VAG specialist cos they will know what is going on and generally not cost you a fortune!!

Could be the HPFP leaking fuel back into the engine causing the smell in the oil. Worth investigating correctly

I took it to a specialist and they said they think it's the PCV... I'm burning oil too which is also another common sign.

They are going to send the injectors off for servicing while they are there too. Total cost £810 all in 🤑
