I have a 2010 A5 with 115k miles. I've had the car for 12 years now and recently I've noticed the suspension being very stiff and harsh going over bumps in the road. The car handles fine otherwise. The car has the original base suspension.

I got quoted $3700 from a local shop to replace the shocks/struts/mounts/springs with oem parts which seems way too high to me.

Is there a more cost effective way to get my suspension back to the original ride quality? Are there specific suspension parts I can replace to reduce the harshness without replacing everything?

What engine and gearbox??? I would suggest going slowly and step by step. An 11 year old car surely needs new shocks. see how she feels, and go from there. Ciao Simon
