  1. Parking Brake / Air Bag Warning Indicator

    A5 & S5 Topics
Hi guys, I'm sorry I didn't update the post. Fortunately I guess, the issue has been resolved, unfortunately, I can't remember what I did to correct it. I vaguely recall removing the cables from my battery for 24 hours and the system reset, but I'm not sure that was the solution for this...
  2. EPC Light comes on at 4000 rpm - clears on restart

    A5 & S5 Topics
Thanks for the quick response. Fortunately, I was told about the "Top-Tier" fuel and have only ever used Shell's highest grade full. I received the P2293 error code and have experienced the "limp" mode when hitting a certain RPM. The car will sputter a little when I first start it in the...

Hi guys, I know it's been a while since this post was updated, but did any of you happen to replace the fuel regulator on your car by any chance? I'm thinking of giving it a shot, but can't find any instructions on-line. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg 09 S5
  4. Parking Brake / Air Bag Warning Indicator

Hi Dan, I have, and you are correct, but you haven't met my dad. Shrek, I'm not sure, he's usually very good about using his seatbelt, so I don't think that would have been an issue, but it's good info to know.
  5. Parking Brake / Air Bag Warning Indicator

Hi everyone, I had my Air Bag indicator light as well as another light I can't seem to identify came on together suddenly yesterday (Please see image, I circled the indicator lights in yellow). Unfortunately, I let my father borrow the car and he insists that he didn't do anything out of the...
  6. Single Tire Replacement

    A5 & S5 Topics
Thanks for the help. I was told that I don't even need to balance out the two rears because it shouldn't matter if it's one two or three as long as they didn't vary by more than three degrees. As it stands they are exactly three degrees apart. Still no warning lights.
  7. Single Tire Replacement

    A5 & S5 Topics
Hey all, I just had one of my tires punctured on my 2009 S5 in a place where it can't be repaired (the outer edge). The wear on the old treads has 5/32" remaining and the new tire has 8/32" remaining tread. I drove after the tire was put on (Rear driver's side) and no warning lights came on...
  8. Gas gauge not working

    A5 & S5 Topics
Hey all, Has anyone had issues with their gas gauge? I filled up the other day and none of the gauges showed that put any gas in. The mileage indicator ran down to 0 and my gas light is on. I have an appointment in two weeks but I'm stumped. Thanks in advance Greg

Does anyone have a vag-com in Connecticut that would be willing to help me make a couple of quick modifications to my car? I'll buy the beers. I considered buying one, but I can only think of a couple of changes I'd make. Thanks Greg
  11. Misfiring Cyliders

    S5 General Q&A
Well, here's the verdict. The dealership replaced the thermostat and said that that solution didn't solve the misfiring. Then they called and said that it did in fact fix the issue. I picked the car up yesterday and was told by the mechanic that it was actually a vacuum pump that was causing...
  12. Misfiring Cyliders

    S5 General Q&A
Trust me, I've read all of the FSI issues but I was hoping mine wasn't impacted. Hey if they fix it and it help benefit others I'm willing to be the guinea pig. It is entirely possible that this is the first real attempt. I'm hoping to hear good news tomorrow. Maybe I've been down horse...
  13. Misfiring Cyliders

    S5 General Q&A
Thanks for the sentiments. I believe that they did try replacing the plugs last time. They also had me use a fuel additive to try and clean out the carbon before they finally got in and dug it out manually.
  14. Misfiring Cyliders

    S5 General Q&A
Hey everybody. Has anyone had any issues with cylinders misfiring? I'm not too mechanical so I apologize, but my S5 has been in the shop three times with an annoying hesitation on start up (after I start going it stops). The dealer determined that there was excessive carbon build up (as many...
  15. S5 Reality Check

    New Users & Car Anticipation
Ranger22, your car is one of the nicest I've ever seen. Can I ask where you got your 20" wheels and how much you paid for them? I wish I'd seen your car before I bought mine. You sound as anal as I am, good luck. Greg
  16. Replica Wheels

    S5 General Q&A
Hey everybody. Has anyone had any experience with replic wheels? I'd like to purchase a duplicate set of standard S5 wheels and snow tires for winter (I know I'm a little late). Originally I thought that I'd garage the car for the winter but I just can't do it. I tried driving a couple of...
  17. THE Song to test your music system and launch the new ride...

    Off Topic
I love all music, but there's one song that when I crank it on my B&O it blows everyone away. "6:00 AM" by Dream Theater off of the "Awake" cd. It's a drummers song for sure, but it really shows off the system and what it's capable of. Just my two cents. I'm going to throw in some of the...

  20. Dilemma...what color leather for Quartz Grey?

    S5 General Q&A
I have the Quartz Grey/ Black combo and I'm very happy. My only advice might be that as far as resale black is probably safest bet, but personal preference really has to be the key. Black is easy to maintain, but any wearing will stand out (it's tough to jump right into the middle of these...
