Newbie first post

Hi everyone, first post!!
I just bought a 2010 A5 2.0T and really enjoying it so far. Just a couple of questions, I'm sure the first of many!
1. My car has 3G MMI with the HDD. What's the best way for me to get playing Spotify from my iPhone?
2. The filler cap drain hole appears to be clogged as water accumulates there. Is this common? Was planning on using some strimmer wire to unblock. Does this sound like a good idea?

Welcome along. Let's get some pictures of the new car.

Regarding spiteful I found plugging it in and opening spirit from the phone worked best. You get some functionality through mini once it's started playing from spirit, but it's by no means ideal.

As the phone plugs in in the glove box it's all a bit of a pain unless you don't wanna skip tracks all the time.

Apologies.....first post should always come with pictures. I forgot my car forum etiquette. Will post a picture up later, as soon as it stops raining!
Obviously there's a problem with plugging into the glovebox in that you can't control the app. Wouldn't be too bad if there was a long lead available?

Welcome. Can't help with no.1 but the strimmer wire should sort no.2 out nicely.

Welcome dry!
Look forward to seeing those pics

The blocked plug hole is common on the 5's. I use a long thin electricians screw driver to unblock but everyone has their own method.

Strimmer wire or small zip-tie works wonders. Happens all the time with my Tdi, so yes, I'd say it is a common fault.

be careful shoving wire down the tube, if its rigid enough it will push the rubber gromet off the tube and you wont know it until it rains and the bottom of your interior is soaked(or headliner) unless you remove the interior pieces to access the grommets..

this is a known issue with VAG since the late 90's models.

I just cut the flap on mine and put a longer tube in it so it touches the fender liner.

Cheers guys. Promise I will get those pictures up tomorrow. I actually gave it a good wash last night but today's rain has made it dirty again.
Also on the subject of washing it, it's obviously seen a lot of 5 car washes in its lifetime. It needs a bloody good claying and a DA polisher. A project for a day off I think!
Don't suppose anyone knows a good pad/polish combo for removing light swirls from black paint??
Back onto Spotify, any other suggestions? I've seen a couple of other solutions posted including additional hardware to set up another Bluetooth connection or AirPlay. Anyone have experience and can advise?? Cheers
