Engine Mounts Replacement @ 29k Miles

Hello everyone, has anyone had to have their engine mounts replaced @ 29k miles or earlier?

What causes this? Is it premature wear and tear or defective matter?

I had to take my car into the dealership as I had a weird noise as soon as I would accelerate 1st or 2nd gear, like a clank or bump on engine. They mentioned the Engine Mounts needed to be replaced, and I don't know much in regards to this so does anyone know?

Dealership replaced the Broken engine mounts under warranty.

Dealer mentioned the probably cause of this is hard acceleration, which can cause high vibrations on the engine therefore wearing out the mounts. They also mentioned, this usually happens on vehicles with 90k on it.

I am having similar problems in my A5 3.2 with 24k miles, big clunking noise when stepping hard on the gas in 1st and 2nd gear. I also have been noticing it when shifting 1st to 2nd. Taking her in tomorrow for service.
