Question Idle rev limit

I know this hs probably been asked before, but I couldnt find it when I searched for it.

How do I get the idle rev limit removed from my 2009 3.0Tdi?

ATM, it revs no higher than 2k when in N or P, with ECS off or on.

Thanks, K

Yes, but 2K seems rather low. surely the car should be able to rev to the normal limiter when in N or P?

I dont know the reason why its peged at 2000rpm. I am assuming for some sort of engine protection. Have you tried pressing and holding the traction control button till it turns every thing off then try rev it past 2000 ?

Yup - tries that. If anything, its more for my own curriosity as I see plenty of vids where 3.0 TDis appear to be revving to 3-4k whilst stationary, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the limiter removed.

I just like the sound of my exhaust tbh. Obviously tho, this question appears to have made me look like a dick, based on the average responses I've recieved.

It just makes you wonder why you would want to rev it up. Seems like a boy racer thing to me.

That sounds like launch control is possibly being used as revs will go higher then.

Normally if you hold the brakes, you can bypass the rev limiter. This worked on some older VWs not sure about newer Audis
