The maps are the same. The problem is with the activation file. This needs to be personalised to the VIN otherwise you'll lose access to Audi Connect and online traffic.

Several people have done the update and are then chasing mods (unsuccessfully so far!) to reinstate Audi Connect. There is a dubious Vin Patcher but I've decided to take the coward's way out and sit tight until the quinea pigs have sorted a 100% reliable process.

Thanks DRT. I'd heard simular talk about the the vin and audi connect and a poss vin patcher also a firmware update 786 I think it was to stay away from as even audi dealers was having problem with when coming to activation of maps.

Having trouble downloading the map. Arround 80% the download is only downloading with 15kb/s or less. When I pause it and continue it will work for a few seconds. After getting to 99% the download failed. Copied it to SD and couldn't find an update.

Am downloading it again. Hope it will go a bit better.

Try JDownloader if you're having issues. Most likely an ISP issue with downloading

Hi,

Just to confirm, these updates will work on a 2009 A5 MMI HDD system?

I think I understand the firmware update process but would really appreciate instructions for the maps if available!

Cheers

Before you get too excited - are you based in Europe or down under? That map version looks familiar, but not in a European sense! The firmware updates 'should' work but these map files are Europe only so you'll need to confirm you can find up to date ones for where you live

Hi, Just got my 2014 A5 today and noticed that my maps were not up to date. I am in Canada (North America). Would you be able to provide the NA version of the firmware and maps ?

Thanks

Finally got round to doing this yesterday. Worked perfectly. I went from 09 maps to 2015 so had to use hidden menu method to get rid of invalid data set error but apart from that all went smoothly. Thanks again guys.

Did you get component protection kick in? Couple with early firmware I've seen did, which is a bit of a pain.

Anyone succeeded with getting speed limit shown on 3G MMI navigation (Like the 3G+ MMI)?
I've tried to look with VCDS and hidden menus but found no bit for this.
