Let us know how you made out. Given all the previous hue and cry about the anti-stall provisions, I expected there to be more reactions about the latest software update.
I am absolutely amazed at how different the car behaves. For the better.

The dealer acknowledged they could barely hear a very slight bit of wind noise but after confirming window positioning concluded everything is as expected (for a frameless window). They said there were no bulletins for my car for A-pillar wind noise. I showed them the forum list. They showed me their list. We spent a while going through their database and reviewing all of the bulletins that appeared and there were none for A-pillar wind noise. Hence my curiosity about where the forum TSB list is valid. ----------------- epilogue to the wind noise itself The service advisor told me of customers who have found wind rushing through the small side mirror gap (between the folding portion and fixed base) to cause whistling and had fixed it by folding the mirror in and placing a small sticky pad (like the pile side of velcro) in the interface to block the wind when the mirror was unfolded. So on my way home, I rolled down the window when the noise became audible. The noise was still there! (I usually have the window up at these speeds). It was coming from the mirror right where he suggested. I will experiment on a windblocker fix but in the meantime, if anyone has fitted their own custom windblocker, please share.

That's my point I made in an earlier post. I've asked about the actual TSB's and what they actually fixed. The ones that are posted are just numbers to me. I'd like to see like in several posts someone has actually posted the directions to fix the problem and that's what we need.

Hi Snowday, Meteor Ghost
I think the way its meant to work is that Audi dealer reads these TSB first before trying to fault find. You are not alone in finding dealers without a full knowledge of these TSB's hope this helps.... |

Thanks for posting the actual TSB! I'm not sure my car has this particular root cause (I'll check) but it's very helpful to be able to see the TSB contents. Can you post the other A-pillar wind noise TSB (66 08 18)? It's still a mystery to me why the dealer couldn't see all of these TSBs. Where did you get the list from?

Hi Snowday,
I created the list at the start of the thread:-) I figured it would be very helpful for new members to see known faults, issues and remedies on this new model - a way to get educated about your car. Most of the time spent on repairs is at the diagnosis stage, and knowing a bit about your car when taking its to the dealers can be helpful to both parties. Nothing worse that having some one fix a problem that doesn't exist. Noises are notoriously difficult to isolate and locate. I have no idea why some dealers do not seem to have these TSB's - that their internal problem I guess. The other TSB you mentioned is just an update of the one that was posted - it addresses the same issue/problem Regards |

Anyone know if there's an anti-stall update for the 2009 A5? Mine behaves the same way, but unfortunately the listed TSB is for the 2008 S5 only.

bringing this thread back from the dead, does anybody have an updated list of TSB's? I have had an 2010 A5 since August, with 0 issues, just wanted to check though, thanks!

Some TSBs are specific to certain VIN number ranges or model year vehicles. When you put a customer's VIN number into ELSA it brings up all TSB's that are applicable to their particular vehicle. If a TSB doesn't show up it cannot be performed on that vehicle unless Audi technical assistance directs the technician to do so, or unless you jump through some warranty hoops

Has anyone found a fix for the door rattle on the driver's side with certain bass frequencies? I took my 2009 A5 into the dealership to fix a couple things and they said that they did not hear the rattle. They have been pretty good about eveything else that I've gone in there for. They even replaced a button for free that they normally would not have.

I had this same problem, but on my passenger side. After the dealer found nothing even after taking the door apart, I realized later it was coming from the inlay. Here's an easy test. While the bass is playing, use your palm and gently press over the door inlay. If the rattling stops, then that is your problem. For me, I took the inlay out (which is very easy, there is a copy of the service manual instructing how to do this) and on the back I put pieces of Dynamat and the embarrassing rattles were no more. I've suggested this same procedure to a few others and they were able to confirm the same as well. This is one of those jobs where you will do a better job than the dealer. Hope this helps.

My driver's side rattles and putting my hands on any part of the door including the window doesn't make it go away. It starts to stop when I roll my driver's side window down 2/3 of the way... Also, bass notes don't trigger the rattle, but the little bumps I have to go over 50 times a day!

my solution for the bass rattle was to pop off the door panels... add extra zip ties to the wires... and to add a layer of dynamat to the backs of them.

With door panel/inlay I mean the panel/pocket marked with yellow in the attached image. When I grip and hold this panel the vibrations stop. This goes for all doors, even the small panels in the back. Audistic: Is it this panel you are talking about?

I have the same problem with my doors. Its kind of hard to gauge where its coming from since it comes and goes when I go over bumps. I don't listen to music real loud so I can't say its coming form the bass.
