Default Spacers--->Wheel bearing ??

Hi everyone,

Im planning to instal the spacers for my A5,

but I went to local shop yesterday, they dont recommend me to use sapcers,

they said if I go 10mm or bigger over a year that may cause the wheel bearing,

is that ture ? Im consider to put 15F 20R..

Bryan, we have many forum members that are using spacers on their cars and as far as I am aware not one of us have experienced wheel bearing issues. Personally I've had mine on for 20k miles and experienced no problems.

Personally I would suggest going to a better shop, someone who knows what they are talking about.

Wheel spacers can & do cause wheel bearing failure in many cases. IMO, they wont cause you any problems on the A5 as the setup you are proposing is most likely not pushing the wheel outward anymore than some of the larger wheel factory setups.

But to be told "if I go 10mm or bigger over a year that may cause the wheel bearing" is totally inaccurate and therefore clearly the advisor doesn't knows what he/she is talking about. Assuming it is important to the OP to find someone who he can trust in their knowledge and workmanship then it's important he goes to a different shop.

Wink wheel spacers vs. wheel bearings

Ive had 10mm for 20,000 miles dont hear or see any problem,dont over do it with 25mm. looks great.
