My new A5 arrived today, took almost exactly 3 months. It didn't arrive at the dealer until 4 so I couldn't take it home. Fortunately I work only 5 minutes away and it's on the way home so I had a chance to check it out "dirty just off the truck" and take it for a test drive. Was very impressed with acceleration, everything I've heard about the 2.0T seems to be true and I'm coming from a 2000 BMW M5. Clutch is a bit light, otherwise it drove great. Didn't notice if the steering felt "over-assisted".
This will be my first Audi and I like the improvements they made by moving the engine back and sending more power to the rear wheels. Should drive more like a sports car. I've driven older quattro A4's and they felt more like a front wheel drive car to me. Dealer swapped out summer tires for all season's (Continentel's) for me and will let me do whatever mods I want and not invalidate the warranty so I've already "budgeted" for a remap, new intercooler and cat-back exhaust. He's already remapped a couple of other 2010 and he told me it's a big improvement; another advantage to turbo's. I plan to do that at the end of May or early June. I'd like to drive it stock for a little while. I spec'd it with the Premium Plus and the Sport package. I hardly use Navigation so I bought the Roadmate app for my iPhone instead and this thing still has more gadgets than anything I've owned previously. I'll post pics this weekend. Checking out everyone else's A5 on this board helped make the time go by faster. Haha... |

Welcome to the forum,
The 2.0T, although it lacks top end power, is a great engine It should be an interesting journey, to say the least. Be sure to post the progress on here...

Thanks guys... it's been fun reading all the threads and seeing what everyone is doing or has done to their cars.
Picked up the car on Thursday and promptly put over 100 miles on it since I picked it up. Haha.... So far the car has not disappointed. Amazed at how easy it was to connect my iPod and my iPhone. And the MMI is truly simple to use. The standard stereo system sounds good to me. The seats are great and with a stool my 3 yr old has no problems getting in and out of the back seat. Very impressed with the acceleration from the 2.0T and I'm getting just under 22 mpg in "suburban driving". Thinking of near future mods raises the question; can you put spacers on just the rear tires? The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend, if so will wash her and post some pics. |

Congrats on the new ride. Sure you can just put spacers on the rear. Which flash does your dealer install?

Nice day here in the "D" so I took a few pics.... I like how Quartz Gray looks light or dark depending on the light. Can't really go wrong with any color on these though. It's a Premium Plus with the sport suspension, black inside with aluminum inlays and a 6MT. Just a great design inside and out, no other car maker is designing as nice of stuff as Audi right now, probably no one here is going to disagree....

Thanks guys!
I live in Michigan just outside of Detroit. Schwabe, Not sure which chip they've previously installed. I want to say APR. I'll find out and let you know. I'll be in Berlin the 1st week of June and right now the plan is to have them do the mods that week while I'm gone. |

So after 650 miles I've found the car to be pretty much as expected from reading everything I could find about the car. I'm really amazed at the performance of the 2.0t engine. What a great motor, can only imagine what it must be like in the new TTS with 265hp. Only time it feels like a 4 is under 1500 rpm's. Otherwise not only does it really accelerate but I'm getting 22.6 mpg in mostly suburban driving so far. A big improvement over the 15 mpg I was getting in my M5. The car doesn't feel front heavy nor like a front wheel driver at all. Only negatives so far are the light, numb steering at low speeds, though it does firm up at speed, and the shifting, while not long, is lacking in feel as well. The light clutch pedal doesn't really bother me, over all I would say it's a sporty drive but not quite a sports car, I guess that's what the "S" is for. Not disappointed at all, pretty much exactly what I was expecting.
Next week they put the all-season Continentals on it so we're going to flash it with the APR ECU upgrade as well and see what that's like. I was going to wait awhile but.... |

Congrats! It looks sharp!!!
If only we Greeks weren't on the verge of bankruptcy I would had gone the upgrade way and the likes of your car would fit the profile just fine! Best regards George
